Autotext is a very useful feature in Word. It enables the storing of frequently used text and other formatted content. Autotext is easily inserted into a document by typing the autotext name and pressing F3. If the user cannot remember the autotext name then they can use Word's Autotext dialog but this dialog is not completely functional:
- the autotext content preview is very short
- specifying the template source of the autotext is fiddly
- you cannot see autotext for all active templates
